ESET Attains OESISOK™ Certification
Threat Protection Leader is Latest IT Security Vendor to Complete Interoperability Testing Program
San Francisco, Calif., April 1, 2008—OPSWAT, Inc., the leading provider of endpoint security integration technologies, today announced that ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, is the latest company to complete OESISOK certification. This certification provides ESET customers with validation that any ESET product will easily integrate with an enterprise’s existing network infrastructure.
The ESET Smart Security Business Edition and ESET NOD32 Antivirus 3.0 Business Edition solutions completed the rigorous testing program and both garnered OESISOK certification.
These products are powered by ThreatSense® technology, an advanced heuristics engine that enables proactive detection of malware not covered by even the most frequently updated signature-based products.
“ESET is pleased to be certified through the OESISOK interoperability program,” said Anton Zajac, CEO at ESET. “This validation gives our customers the confidence that ESET Smart Security Business Edition and ESET NOD32 Antivirus 3.0 Business Edition will integrate seamlessly with market leading network access control (NAC) products while continuing to provide world-class proactive protection against blended malware and zero-day threats.”
The OESISOK certification program is comprised of several stages of comprehensive installation and verification testing in order to ensure that a security application is both functional and interoperable with any network device or product. These stages are as follows:
Installation Test – The application is installed on all supported operating systems and must complete the entire process without any error.
Rogue Application Test – The application is then scanned against multiple leading anti-malware engines, where it is tested and confirmed as interoperable and not identified as a threat.
OESIS® Local Detection Test – The application is checked to ensure it is detected by the OESIS Framework.
Digital Signature Verification – All binaries installed as part of the application are checked and catalogued for a digital certificate; this catalog will then be made available to the public.
* Virus Scanning and Detection – The anti-malware application is tested on its ability to effectively detect viruses; the application is then validated against other anti-malware certification programs.
Once this entire testing process is completed, the application is given OESISOK certification, confirming its interoperability status and made publicly available at www.OESISOK.com.
“We are excited to have malware detection technology leader ESET join the OESISOK interoperability certification program,” said Benny Czarny, president and CEO of OPSWAT, Inc. “We anticipate other anti-malware and threat protection solution vendors will follow ESET’s lead and submit their endpoint security application to the OESISOK certification process, validating the security and interoperability of their technology.”
Users can check the certification and interoperability status of their endpoint security applications at the OESISOK web site: http://www.OEISIOK.com.
