ESET Scores “Advanced+” Rating in On-Demand Testing from AV-Comparatives

Detects 100 Percent of High Polymorphic Viruses, 97.7 Percent Overall

SAN DIEGO – March 10, 2008 – For the fourth time in a row ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, secured the prestigious “Advanced+” rating from AV-Comparatives, an independent antivirus software research outlet .

The “Advanced+” rating is granted to antivirus providers in two cases: if a product detects over 97% of the full malware test-sets, or if a product has a high proactive detection rate and a very low false alarm rate. ESET has captured the Advanced+ rating on four consecutive occasions, and in 13 of the last 17 tests.

SUBWAY Partners with ESET to Protect Customer Point-of-Sale Systems

SAN DIEGO – February 21, 2008 – ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, today announced an agreement with the SUBWAY® restaurant chain, the world’s largest submarine sandwich franchise. Under terms of the agreement, SUBWAY’s 23,000+ US/CA merchants are able to deploy ESET NOD32® Antivirus software directly on their point-of-sale (POS) terminals, protecting the computer systems from increasingly sophisticated threats.

“SUBWAY’s POS machines are mission critical to our restaurants’ successful operation, handling hundreds of transactions per day. Subway franchisees depend on the POS to work at optimum speed, moving customers quickly through the line. Therefore, it is critical that each of these machines is not hindered by malware that can slow or shut down systems,” said Marina O’Rourke, SUBWAY’s director of retail technology, who oversees testing and implementation.

Eset Secures Advanced Plus Rating

ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, was named one of only two companies to capture the prestigious “Advanced+” rating from AV-Comparatives, an independent research outlet that tests antivirus software.

The “Advanced+” rating is granted to antivirus providers who proactively detect new or unknown threats, without mistakenly identifying safe files as malicious.
