With immediate effect - We are no longer accepting American Express cards in our online store

It is with deep regret that we have taken the decision to no longer accept American Express cards through our online store.
During the last year, it became clear that both Visa and Mastercard were making great improvements in their fraud detection, and disablement of compromised cards - while American Express 'seems' to be lagging behind. A quick glance at the credit card types of 'fraudulent' purchases from our online store yields a 4:1 or greater ratio of AmEx to everything else.
We will still be accepting American Express for phone orders, and for online quotes paid through our quoting system to our business customers - this ONLY affects our retail store purchasing method, and will remain in effect for the foreseeable future.
Once again, we took this step after long and hard consideration - and with a lot of soul searching - it is not out intent to limit payment methods, but the huge cost of dealing with fraud, and the ever increasing ratio of American Express fraud to any other cards, it was the only decision left open to us.
So.. if you need to use your American Express - please phone your order in - we are more than happy to take you order over the phone, or request a quote through our online ESET NOD32 Quote form - we welcome American Express through these payment routes, through Google Checkout still, and through your PayPal account (you can list your American Express as a card in your PayPal and still pay using that method).
