How to exclude certain files/folders from ESET Smart Security On-Demand Scanner
In some cases, users may wish to exclude certain files or directories from being scanned by ESET Smart Security, for compatibility or performance reasons. See the steps below for details on this process:
1.
Open ESET Smart Security by clicking the icon in your Windows system tray
or by clicking Start → All Programs → Eset → ESET Smart Security.
2.
Click Computer Scan in the left column.

The On-Demand computer scan window will be displayed. Click Custom scan.
4.
The ESET Smart Security Custom Scan window appears. Click the + symbol next to the drive letter to expand the contents.
5.
Locate the files or folders you wish to exclude from the scan process and verify that its check box is
deselected (See Fig 1-1 below).

Click the Scan button at the bottom of the window to start the scanning process. All folders (and files within those folders) which have been deselected will not be included in the On-Demand scan.
